From the Principal's Desk
Dear Parents and Families,
This week our flagpole was finally able to be lit up at night with the addition of electricity. While I am always amazed at the magnitude of a flag blowing in the wind, there is something even more magnificent to see it at nighttime.
I had the opportunity to spend some time with the students in all of the classes this week. It is so nice to see them interacting with their teachers and classmates. With so many facets of the educational process of learning-from literal cutting and pasting in kindergarten, to the technological form of copying/pasting in middle school, as we checked school gmails and created student accounts on FACTS management, which is the platform their student grade accounts are on, I am so proud of how much so many of them are accomplishing. Added to that is the children playing card and board games with one another, using playdoh to form words, working on group STREAM activities, projects, and study sessions, making for both busy and productive days.
I am sorry that we had to forego the school wide pizza party, with the looming threat of evening rains, however, I am looking forward to in the not so distant future, in October, our next FAMILY STREAM Night and Trunk and Treat.
The students enjoyed popsicles today at lunch, as I felt all of them deserved a special treat on this fun Friday.
Please take time to look over your student's progress report this weekend and acknowledge their successes, as well as talk about ways in which subjects that may prove more challenging, can be improved upon. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of reading to, with, and individual reading nightly, to reinforce the learning taking place here at school. We are here to work with you to help develop your student's God given gifts and talents.
Have a fantastic weekend.
Yours In Christ,
Rita M. Klenk
