This week at Mass, Fr. Bob spoke about the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady, and Mary's relationship with Jesus as his mother. He spoke about how difficult it must have been for her to watch her son suffer and ultimately, to die on the cross.
Fr. Bob reminded students that as Jesus' mother, Mary is an intercessor and that we can pray to Mary and ask her to intercede on our behalf. He talked about the relationship mothers have with their children and how that bond is so deep that when their child is hurting, they hurt too, maybe even suffer more seeing their child in pain or in harm's way. He encouraged all of the students to love and honor their moms and to cherish the relationship that they have with her. Helping their mom, praying for her, and doing their very best to respect and love their mom and Jesus' mom, Mary, to the fullest.
Please know that as teachers, we are all here to support you as your child's primary educator; we want them to love and respect you and to build their relationship with God so that they can more fully live out the commandment of loving others.
Have a restful and family oriented weekend.
Yours In Christ,
