From the Principal's Desk (March 3, 2023)

Dear Parents,

This week we were visited by the Dominican Friars. They spoke with all of the students about their ministry, faith formation, and some of the Dominican saints.

Yesterday, the Gospel reading at the school Mass was from Matthew 7:7-12. In it Jesus spoke to his disciples and said " Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

In Fr. Bob's homily he spoke to us about having a relationship with God and his son Jesus. He explained that much like in any relationship with someone, you must take time to talk to the other person, get to know them, and to share your needs and wants. This allows for the relationship to grow and develop over time. It is not to say that in asking God to hear and provide for what you ask for that this will occur immediately, or at all, but if we truly come to know God and his son Jesus, that God will provide each one of us with what we need.

After Mass yesterday, we also presented our first STAR awards of the school year. These awards were presented to students in grades K-8 who exemplify the virtue of Charity in how they treat everyone at school. As educators, we are here to support you as parents in your efforts to raise faith filled, virtuous individuals. While we recognize many other gifts and talents that your student may have, we feel it is most important to acknowledge the faith filled lives that they try to lead each and every day. We look forward to more of the STAR awards on a monthly basis moving forward, and we will be acknowledging a multitude of virtues in the months to come.

Have a restful and family oriented weekend, filled with faith, fellowship, and fun.

Yours In Christ,

Rita M. Klenk
