From the Principal's Desk (Feb. 17, 2023)

Dear Parents,

This week the students were engaged in many school activities!

Our Epiphany Eagle Archers competed last Saturday and four of the individual students are advancing to the NASP State Competition on the 24th: Emma Hill, Collin Bullard, Emily Reyes-Garcia and Jacob Kuzyk. Additionally, eighth graders, David Lopez and Jacob Kuzyk competed in the Diocesan All Stars Soccer game this past Wednesday in Jacksonville.

The students enjoyed exchanging Valentines and treats on Tuesday. Fourth and fifth graders also got to Zoom call their pen pals from Wasilla, Alaska.

I enjoyed getting to see the students in a different setting when I subbed in for Coach Jourdain at PE on Monday and Tuesday. I was so proud of the students for getting out there and getting some exercise and just having fun with their groups, playing soccer and in the case of grades K and 1, Duck, Duck, Goose. My helpers from my 8th grade Pre-Algebra class also enjoyed themselves, assisting me with the K/1 group on Tuesday.

Sixth graders who met the book report requirements for Mrs. Lester, joined me for smores at the fire pit in the St. Francis of Assisi grotto area yesterday afternoon, to celebrate a job well done!

We kicked off the American Heart Association fundraiser this week. I encourage every family to go online and check out all of the great resources and to complete the Hands Only CPR training that is available. Any donation to the AHA fundraiser is greatly appreciated, and students will earn rewards for their participation and donations turned in by February 27th.

I ask that you continue to keep Mrs. Celedon, our second grade teacher and her family, in your prayers. Her husband passed away on Tuesday. We pray that her and her family will find peace in his Eternal Rest and I know that all of us will be here to support her and her family in the weeks and months ahead.

Enjoy the long weekend with your family, and we will see everyone back here on Tuesday, with grades 2-8 beginning their TerraNova standardized testing next week.

Yours In Christ,

Rita M. Klenk
