From the Principal's Desk
Dear Parents
This week we blessed the new flagpole on Wednesday. Thanks to a donor who purchased the flagpole, flag, and lighting, we are able to not only gather together each morning for prayers and pledge but will also be able leave the flag up at night.
We spoke to the students about the symbolism behind the flag and its design and why we say the pledge. Some of the middle school students received a refresher on how to properly raise, lower, and fold the flag as well.
Yesterday, we attended Mass as a school. It was wonderful to have music again at the school Mass, complements of Mrs. Kelsey LaCour, our parish cantor and mom to kindergartner Ella. We are looking forward to starting a school choir and in the not so distant future, begin preparing for the annual Christmas program.
This Sunday, we will have students and teachers participating in the 10:30 am Mass as lectors, altar servers, and gift bearers. We encourage you to bring your child (children) in school uniform to this Mass. Students attending will receive a dress down pass for next week. We will continue with fellowship in the Social Hall with donuts and coffee.
I also hope to see as many of you as possible at our first Home School Association Meeting of the year, on Wednesday, August 30th at 7:30 am. "Many helping hands make the work lighter", and we want to be able to plan and prepare for upcoming school events.
Next week we will also send home the K-8 after school club schedule with students. Please be on the lookout for the September/October calendars.
Have a great weekend.
Yours In Christ,
Rita M. Klenk
